Regular Board Study Session Meetings, usually on the 4th Wednesday of each month (with exception to the months of November, December, July and August), are focused on specific topics or study sessions. Public comment is generally not available at study sessions. These meetings will be held in person, with no optional remote attendance via Zoom.
Special Session Meetings, are meetings that are held on a date other than a regularly scheduled meeting and notice must be announced to the public at least 24 hours prior to the meeting.
All meetings are open to the public. Minutes will be posted within 24 hours after approval.
The board recognizes the value of public comment on educational issues and the importance of involving members of the public in its meetings. In order to permit fair and orderly expression of such comments, the board provides a time during the meeting in which visitors may make formal presentations.
If you would like to address the board about a particular topic or concern, forms will be available at the Regular meetings to be completed. Once completed, present it to the school board president or the Superintendent prior to the beginning of the meeting. The board president reserves the right to limit comments to approximately three minutes. Large groups may be requested to select one or two spokespersons to represent the concerns of the group. Other than asking clarifying questions, the board will not take action, but may direct the superintendent to follow up.
The president may interrupt or terminate an individual’s statement when:
- It is too lengthy (longer than three minutes)
- It is specific to an individual staff member
- Abusive or obscene
- Irrelevant
