Special Education
Special education is a highly individualized range of services provided in various settings, as defined by a student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).
In the White River School District, we work closely with families and caregivers to meet each student's unique needs through a continuum of services guided by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
Special Education serves eligible students, from ages 3 to their 22nd birthday, with identified disabilities requiring specialized instruction. If a disability is suspected to adversely impact a student's academic progress, an evaluation may be requested.
Students are our priority! We are committed to each and every student and provide a continuum of services at all levels.
NEW TO WHITE RIVER
Welcome to White River! To assist in your student's successful transition to special education services within the White River School District, we will need a complete set of educational records -- especially the student's most recent school district evaluation and IEP. These records should be sent to [email protected] . If you have any questions, please contact our office at 360-829-3959.
Wondering if your student needs special education services?
If you suspect that your school-age child has a disability that is impacting their education, please contact the school psychologist at your child's school by email or phone:
